Chemistry Department Council

The Chemistry Department Council (FBR Chemie) is the decision-making body of the Department of Chemistry. The Faculty Council has 17 members, who are made up in varying proportions of the respective status groups of professors, academic staff, non-scientific staff and students. The Faculty Council is elected for a term of three years. The term of office of the student members is one year, the term of office of the other members is three years.

The Faculty Council is responsible for fundamental issues in the areas of research and teaching and advises / decides on the use of resources. The meetings are chaired by the Dean. The Chemistry Department Council meets regularly two weeks before the Senate meetings. Members of the university are welcome to attend the public part of the meeting as guests.

Audit Committee

The Faculty Council appoints an Examination Board for the examination system of each degree program. The respective examination board consists of seven members. These are made up in varying proportions from the university's status groups. The meetings are chaired by the chairperson. The examination board can delegate various tasks to the chairperson. The term of office of the student members is one year, that of the other members is three years.

One of the tasks of the Examination Board is to ensure that the provisions of the respective examination regulations are adhered to.

FSL

The Departmental Committee for Studies and Teaching (FSL) at the Department of Chemistry is an advisory body and is appointed for a period of three years by the Chemistry Department Council. The FSL consists of 15 members, who are made up equally of professors, academic staff and students.

The meetings are chaired by the chairperson.

The FSL advises the Faculty Council, for example, in connection with reforms/redesign of degree programs, changes to examination regulations, organization/ensuring teaching operations and quality assurance issues.
