Chemistry didactics AG Seibert

by Jun.-Prof. Dr. Johann-N. Seibert

Welcome to the AG Seibert!

The working group of Jun.-Prof. Dr. Johann-Nikolaus Seibert is active in the didactics of chemistry at RPTU in Kaiserslautern.

Research

In our research, we are primarily concerned with determining the conditions for successful self-regulated learning in chemistry. In particular, we investigate didactic and methodological aspects of research-based learning, digitalization and education for sustainable development in the CLeVerLAB student laboratory, develop suitable teaching-learning environments to promote them and transfer them to society through modern science communication.

Teaching

In our teaching, the focus is primarily on the professionalization of (prospective) chemistry teachers. The aim is to generate an open teaching and learning culture within the framework of chemistry didactics, in which, among other things, the integration of digital aspects and aspects of education for sustainable development leads to a stronger development of subject-related, interdisciplinary and at the same time digitization-related skills. This goes hand in hand with the participatory integration of current didactic research focal points into the university education and training of teachers.
