CLeVer4Nature - Be part of it!

The week of sustainability for pupils

Sustainability Week at the Chemistry department

Are you interested in sustainability issues? Do you want to exchange ideas on innovative socially relevant topics and learn from experts? Then you've come to the right place!

After the successful Clever4Nature Weeks 2023 and 2024, we want to go into the third round from July 7-11, 2025. The vacation program will once again be offered for students in grades 10-13 at RPTU in Kaiserslautern by the Department of Chemistry. The event raises awareness of sustainable action and sustainable development. In terms of content, the week is an excellent way to optimally prepare for the content of the upper school or the upcoming Abitur examination in chemistry. This year, the focus is on the following sustainability topics:

Day 1: Pool water analysis with Pool-scAN

The first day is an exciting criminal case. Slip into the role of the Forseniker team and use various wet-chemical analysis methods to analyze the environmentally harmful pool water samples and convict the perpetrator

Day 3: Alternative mobility

What is the drive technology of the future? You will get to the bottom of this question on the third day by experimentally investigating sustainable alternatives to the conventional combustion engine and analyzing their future potential in a panel discussion.

Day 2: Vapes

Everyone is talking about vapes. But how sustainable is this cigarette substitute really and how do they actually work? You will find answers to these questions in an extensive experimental setting.

Day 4: Plastic & Environment

On Thursday at the CLeVerLAB, you will be investigating the effects of plastic waste and the accumulation of microplastics in our environment. The focus is on chemical analysis methods for identifying and recycling different types of plastic.

Day 5: Sustainability journalism - social media meets sustainability

On the last day, the focus is on your creative design in the context of sustainability. On this day, you will become sustainability journalists and produce different media content yourself, e.g. for Instagram, TikTok, newspapers or Spotify.

All days start at 9 am and end at around 4 pm. All days build on each other in terms of content and prepare for the last day in particular. Your meals will be taken care of, which is why we charge a flat rate of €20 for the entire week. You will receive further information about the schedule of the individual days by email after registration. Your participation will also be awarded with a CLeVerLAB certificate as a STEM certificate.

There are only 30 places available! Join us and shape the week of sustainability! We look forward to seeing you!
