Exact mass determination

Unfortunately, the MS device for exact mass determination is no longer available due to an irreparable defect!

Agilent GC 6890/MSD 5975

A GC/MS system from Agilent (GC-6890 and MSD-5975) is available for routine analysis.

After gas chromatographic separation, the GC-MS analysis allows the complete recording of mass scans (up to mass m/z 800) in the so-called SCAN mode under EI conditions with the corresponding fragmentation pattern. In many cases, a comparison of the fragmentation pattern with the device's internal database enables the substances or substance mixtures analyzed to be identified.

Quantitative analysis with external and internal standards is also possible and is often realized using the Selected IonMonitoring (SIM) method.
