GERTI

The GERTI apparatus - the abbreviation stands for"GeneralElectrosprayReflectronTimeof Flight Instrument" - is a self-designed time-of-flight mass spectrometer.

As can be deduced from the name, the apparatus was originally developed to be operated with an electrospray source. However, the size of the source chamber not only allows alternative operation of the laser evaporation source, but also leaves open the possibility of using other sources. This enables us to use the GERTI apparatus not only for measurements, but also for testing newly developed sources.

Coupling with the IR-OPO laser should enable the vibrational spectroscopic investigation of molecular clusters.
